Author : Dr. Ashok S. Banne |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Even during the era of LPG, Indian economy is considered as an agricultural economy. Majority of the rural population still depends up on the agriculture for livelihood. Indian farmers suffer a number of problems.Along with other problems, they face a number of risks and uncertainties like drought, floods, disease, pests, and other natural disasters. The weather is their greatest challenge and is beyond the control. Though, these risks are uncontrollable, the loss suffered by the farmers due to these incidents can be made good through customized insurance products i.e. Crop Insurance. This paper is an attempt to review the performance of select Crop Insurance Schemes viz. Coconut Palm Insurance Scheme (CPIS), Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (WBCIS). The author has used three parameters viz. number of farmers insured, sum insured and premium to assess the performance of the schemes. The paper revealed that the number of farmers insured, the sum insured as well as the premium went on reducing over the study period. |

DESIGNING QUALITY RESEARCH THROUGH REFLECTIONS FROM THE PAST |
Author : K. Kannan |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Educational research is seeking or searching for knowledge within the field of education. The word research derives from the French word “researcher” meaning to travel through. The formal definition of educational research is a careful systematic investigation of, or “traveling through,” any aspect of education. The search for knowledge can be formal or informal and includes observation, gathering and analysis of performance data, individual case studies and tightly controlled experiments. The search can be conducted by individual teachers, school principals, students, and professors in schools of education or well-funded research organizations. The
bottom line is that research helps us understand the education profession. As a Ph.D., scholar, the researcher wanted to find out the ways to make a research quality in its true sense. With this quest, the researcher analyzed various researches and arrives at a design using the following research questions.
1.Whatdoqualitative and quantitative approaches really mean?
2.What are the misconceptions of using qualitative and quantitative researches?
3.What does mixed methods strategies mean?
4.Whatare the strategies usedinmixed methods?
5.How could a quality research be designed to its true sense? |

DESIGN OF LOW VOLTAGE, LOW POWER (IF) AMPLIFIER BASED-ON MOSFET |
Author : Shiv Shankar Kumar Sharma and Dr. P. K. Jha |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The communication market has been growing very fast during the last decade especially for mobile communication systems. The low power, low voltage and low noise (IF) amplifier is one of the most essential building blocks in the communication circuits. Single input and single power (IF) amplifier based on
Darlington configuration is designed in this work. Minimum channel length (0.18 µm) of MOSFET Darlington transistors is used to im-prove the performance of MODFETs in high frequency operation, and to reduce the effects of parasitic capaci-tance of MOSFETs in high frequency operation. More-over, the decreasing of channel length of MOSFETs re-duces the value of power supply of the circuit and the consumption power
because the threshold voltage of MOSFETs has become smaller. |

PRIMARY DECOMPOSITION THEOREM |
Author : Ms. Deepal |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :We already knew that if a linear operator on a finite-dimensional vector space is diagonalizable then we can decompose the linear operator into elementary operators. I moved a step ahead by showing that every linear operator on a finite-dimensional vector space over an algebraically closed field can be decomposed into elementary operators. Further I showed that every linear operator on a finite-dimensional vector space over an algebraically closed field is uniquely expressible as a sum of diagonalizable and nilpotent operators which commute with each other. In the end I discussed how the primary decomposition theorem is used to break complicated differential equations into much simpler equations and thus help you in finding their solutions. |

TRENDS TO INTEGRATE ICT IN TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESSIN PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN KOLKATA |
Author : Dr. Shabana Haydar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Teachers play a fundamental role in determining what to teach and how to teach using ICT. Teachers are frequently considered to be the most important influence on classroom learning and, as such, play an invaluable role in providing students with the relevant ICT skills and in ensuring that students use ICT
effectively inside and outside school. To effectively integrate ICT in teaching-learning process and to improve learning, students and teachers must have sufficient access to digital technologies and Internet connectivity in their classrooms and access to good quality, meaningful, digital content. Teachers need not only know how to instruct pupil to use ICT effectively, but they also require training to use ICT for teaching different subjects in an effort to integrate the use of ICT across the curriculum to enhance the overall learning experience and improve student outcomes including academic achievement. Hence schools must prepare teachers to effectively use the new learning tools in their teaching practices. According to MHRD, Govt. of India ICT should be ‘made an integral part of school education where it is used as an aid to teachers as well as students. Unless teachers are comfortable using computers and internet, they will find it difficult to use it as a teaching aid or to guide students on its use. ICT needs to be harnessed and adapted in Indian conditions to meet diverse objectives’. It becomes increasingly important to obtain information on trends and practices on the use of ICT analyze the role of teachers in
integration and use of ICT in teaching-learning process in primary and secondary schools in Kolkataand to examine ifteachers use the new digital ICT tools and resources efficiently to create more effective and engaging student-centered learning environments.

HINDU ICONOGRAPHY: A UNIQUE IDENTIFICATION OF INDIAN HERITAGE |
Author : Dr. K. Palanisamy |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :At a basic level, iconography involves description, identification, and classification of artworks as a means of studying their development over time and variations in their forms across regions. These studies rely on close visual analysis and the correlation of images with relevant written texts. Beyond this, the role of iconographical analysis is to understand what images mean and how they function as part of larger historical,
sociopolitical, and intellectual contexts. Scholarship on Hindu images is characterized by both descriptive and interpretative levels of analysis. Following the main themes outlined in published works, this article charts the historical development of Hindu images in various media from the formative through the modern periods and highlights their meanings in different contexts: secular and religious; domestic and public; and local, regional, and global. Discussion of regionalism and sectarian identity are balanced with examinations of crossovers among
sects, regions, and religions. |

STUDIES ON LANTHANIDE (III) COMPLEXES WITH TRIDENTATE SCHIFF BASE LIGAND. X-RAY CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF THE Ce(III) COMPLEX |
Author : Virendra Kumar and Dr. P. K. Jha |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The tridentate ligand was synthetized and reacted in situ with lanthanide nitrate and sodium acetate to yield binuclear lanthanide compounds of Ce, Pr, Gd and Er. These complexes were characterized by spectroscopic studies, elemental analyses, molar conductivity and room temperature magnetic moment measurements. Suitable X-ray crystal diffraction were obtained for the Ce complex. The X-ray structure determination reveal that the Ce ion is nine coordinated with two pyridine nitrogen atoms, one imine nitrogen atom, four oxygen atoms from acetate groups and two water oxygen atoms resulting in a distorted tricapped trigonal prism geometry. The antioxidant activities of the complexes were investigated. For DPPH,
these lanthanide complexes show activity concentration dependence. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :We present a recent proof, that any linear operator in a complex limited dimensional vector space states eigenvectors. The argument avoids the use of the fundamental theorem of algebra, which can then be deduced from it. Our presentation avoids any appeal to the theory of causes. To prove the fundamental
theorem of Algebra using differential calculus, we need to Extreme value theorem for valued function of two original variables, which we state without proof. |
